“You Deserve Each Other” by Sarah Hogle

My rating: 5/5

lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers <- I love that I can say that!!!

“You Deserve Each Other” by Sarah Hogle

I am ashamed at how long it took me to finally read this! It has been sitting in my TBR pile and I finally got out of a reading slump by opening this delightful book up.

This is Sarah Hogle’s DEBUT romance and it can’t get any better.

YOU DESERVE EACH OTHER is the romance book that we all deserve. I, like so many others, adore the enemies-to-lovers trope and Hogle takes it up a notch! We get a hilarious and heartwarming lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers. I mean, what more could we possibly want?

“Loathe at First Sight” by Suzanne Park

My rating: 5/5

Video games, enemies-to-lovers, and girl power!

“Loathe at First Sight” by Suzanne Park

This is Suzanne Park’s second published book and her first adult contemporary romance. Her first publication, THE PERFECT ESCAPE (April 7, 2020), is a quirky YA rom-com perfect for those who enjoy zombies and escape rooms.

Suzanne Park’s adult debut LOATHE AT FIRST SIGHT brings a mix of female empowerment, office humor, and feisty romance into the world of video game design while tackling the racism and misogyny present in gaming culture. Readers will root for Melody Joo as she finds her way in this enemies-to-lovers office romance.

This book reminds me of the popular WEBTOON comic LET’S PLAY by Mongie.

“Of Literature and Lattes” by Katherine Reay

My rating: 3/5

Katherine Reay returns with another sweet small town romance!

“Of Literature and Lattes” by Katherine Reay

This novel follows THE PRINTED LETTER BOOKSHOP.

In OF LITERATURE AND LATTES, Katherine Reay takes readers back to the cosy town of Winsome, Illinois where two people learn to love and grow. This is a small town book focused on friendship, family, and community. Although it is labeled as Christian Fiction, religion is not a heavy part of the story and readers of Romance/Fiction would enjoy the story. OF LITERATURE AND LATTES is a quick, charming read, with a satisfying happily ever after.

Before even seeing who wrote it, the cover and title of this book grabbed my attention. Such a great cover!!

“Girl Gone Viral” by Alisha Rai

My rating: 5/5

Another techy and sassy romantic comedy from author Alisha Rai.

“Girl Gone Viral” by Alisha Rai

This is the second book in the Modern Love series by Alisha Rai. THE RIGHT SWIPE (Modern Love #1) was a hot romance between two rival dating app creators. It is a 5/5 for me! So, when I saw her GIRL GONE VIRAL (Modern Love #2), I got really excited.

Alisha Rai’s GIRL GONE VIRAL does not disappoint. It’s a page-turner, absolutely addictive, and will keep you giggling. Katrina and Jas are delightful, as individual characters and as a pair.

This book made me think about the movie THE BODYGUARD (1992) with Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. I adore the protector to lover romances. YUM.

“What the Wind Knows” by Amy Harmon

My rating: 5/5

Time travel, W.B. Yeats, and Irish history!

“What the Wind Knows” by Amy Harmon

This is the first book I’ve read by Amy Harmon, and it just makes me want to read everything else she’s written. The way she weaves a story is incredible.

What the Wind Knows is an enchanting historical romance that transcends everything. It’s not typical, and it definitely isn’t Outlander; It’s so much more. Harmon’s writing is poetic, heart warming, lyrical, and enchanting. I was spellbound from the first page all the way until the end.

The relationships in the story are complex and so desperately beautiful. I fell in love with this story, the setting, and the history. The last page—the last paragraph—left me sobbing, and I would read it all over again in a heartbeat. I couldn’t imagine it any other way: it is perfection.

This title was chosen for my Library’s romance book club, Between the Covers, and I am so happy with the choice.

“The Two Lives of Lydia Bird” by Josie Silver

My rating: 4/5 stars

Two lives. Two loves. One impossible choice. From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Reese’s Book Club Pick One Day in December. . .

“The Two Lives of Lydia Bird” by Josie Silver

THE TWO LIVES OF LYDIA BIRD is another irresistible love story from author Josie Silver. This romance is an emotional rollercoaster. The heart of this story is about Lydia working her way through her grief and learning how to live in the present. Tissues will be needed.

It took me more than a week to finish the book. There were some chapters that I had to force myself to get through, but overall it was an enjoyable read.

“House Rules” by Ruby Lang

My rating: 5/5

Older couple, second chance romance, roommates!

“House Rules” by Ruby Lang

HOUSE RULES is the third book in the Uptown series by Ruby Lang and does not disappoint.

Lang writes characters that are real, relatable, and the kind of people you want to be your neighbors.

HOUSE RULES is a sweet, second chance love story featuring a 40 something couple (previously divorced from one another) who become roommates. Meeting again after seventeen years, Simon Mizrahi and Lana Kuo now get to rediscover who they are while figuring out how to live together as roommates. It’s wonderful, fun, smart, and so raw. I can’t recommend Ruby Lang enough!

“Wolf Gone Wild (Stay a Spell)” by Juliette Cross

This is the first book I’ve read by Juliette Cross and I am looking forward to what she thinks up next!

“Wolf Gone Wild” is a fun and sexy paranormal romance that has a little bit of everything. Full of strong and smart independent magical women and supporting characters that can hold their own, I can’t wait to see what comes next in the “Stay a Spell” series.

“Bringing Down the Duke” by Evie Dunmore

My rating: 4.5/5

Female students at the University of Oxford! Suffragists! An intense Duke!

Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore

This is a debut novel and a great one at that. Evie Dunmore writes a historical Victorian Romance with a kick that any reader of romance will enjoy.

I loved the interactions between Annabelle Archer and Smexy Sebastian, the Duke of Montgomery. Set in the Victorian era, this clever historical romance is a little bit of everything.

What I enjoyed the most was the honest ending. Annabelle and Sebastian get their own kind of fairy tale ending that is probably the most realistic I’ve read. They do what any sensible English person would do to avoid scandal: go abroad!

This is the first in Evie Dunmore’s “League of Extraordinary Women” series and I can’t wait to read the next one: A Rogue of One’s Own.
